Three Players Tied To Sexual Assault Case Booted From Oregon Basketball Team
(Eugene, OR) -- Despite no arrests, three Oregon Ducks basketball players connected to a sexual assault case are being kicked off the team. Damyean Dotson, Dominic Artis and Brandon Austin were accused of sexually assaulting a female student in early March. The players say the sex was consensual. Police investigated but no charges were filed, with the district attorney's office saying the case wasn't strong enough for a conviction. After initially being suspended from the team last month, the players were given the permanent boot today. The school says an independent panel will be appointed to look into sexual violence on campus.
