Pete Seeger Mourned By Music Fans
(Undated) -- American folk icon Pete Seeger is being mourned by fans and fellow musicians. Seeger passed away Monday at the age of 94 at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Bruce Springsteen was close with Seeger and helped celebrate the "Father of American Folk Music" on his 90th birthday.
Seeger inspired and took part in the Boss' aptly named Seeger Sessions in 2006. The legendary singer-songwriter was a longtime Hudson Valley resident, living in a Dutchess County cabin overlooking the Hudson River. His wife, Toshi, died this past summer, two weeks shy of their 70th wedding anniversary.   Seeger founded the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater which seeks to protect the Hudson River and its surrounding wetlands.
