Flu Deaths Rising In California

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The number of flu-related deaths in California this season is growing. State health officials report 147 people have died, including four children. That's up about 50 from last week. The California Department of Public Health says this flu season continues to be a severe one and the best defense against the virus is to get vaccinated.
In Los Angeles County, 20 deaths have occurred this year, with five in Orange County and 18 in the Inland Empire. Last year, the total number of flu-related deaths reported was 106.
